What We Do
Our goal is to inspire generational change. By providing primary school students with access to a comprehensive education and a local mentor, we’re enabling them to pursue a career and become leaders in their communities. We are providing them with the means , to generate an income, to afford food, shelter, health care and an education for their children in the future. ; to become leaders in their communities. This is where the cycle of poverty ends.
We help talented African students get access to the education they deserve and develop them into future leaders.
In Kenya and Ghana, the government guarantees access to primary school education but the subsidy provided for high school requires families to pay up to $300 a term for their children to continue to high schooltheir education. As few as 1 in 10 students in some communities are able to attend high school. Talented students who are able to complete high school are then eligible for further government grants for university levels. However, given the high drop-out rate at the high school level, the level of university graduates in Africa remains low.
Beyond Eight is the bridge between primary and tertiary education, giving exceptional primary school students access to the high school and tertiary education, as well as mentoring, and leadership training and tuition that will develop them into future leaders.
